Cal Middleton has quickly become a well known Performance Horse Trainer throughout the US
Cal Middleton grew up in Smithville, Mo, and always enjoyed spending the summers at his grandparents farm in Ulman, Mo. It was there that he developed a passion, for not only horses, but the agricultural way of life
After college, he spent some time in the cattle business near Eldon, MO, and then moved north to create his business of horse training and riding lessons by opening a barn in Kearney, MO, that he was leasing.
His solid foundation in the unique understanding of the potential of a horse (and rider) is the direct result of time spent apprenticing with many of the greats in the performance horse arena.
Cal has had the opportunity to work for and learn from the likes of Al Dunning. Al and his students have earned over 32 world and reserve world titles. Cal has also been mentored by the great Brent Wright in Ottawa, KS who is one of the few NRHA riders to win over one million dollars in competition.
Cal Middleton also worked as an assistant trainer for NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Champion and NRCHA million dollar rider Corey Cushing of Scottsdale, AZ. He continues to ride with the top trainers in the world in order to keep learning as much as he can.
He now rents stalls at Brent Wright’s barn in Ottawa, KS, where he offers training and lessons. Specializing in reining, he also offers help with starting colts, general pleasure riding, problem horses and also buying or selling horses.
Cal takes time to consider each horse as an individual and builds a custom training program to help each horse reach its potential. He has a unique ability to coach non-pros and teach people as well as horses. Cal is an extremely talented young trainer that has something to offer for anything you want to do and accomplish with your horse. He is currently offering a unique horse and rider video remote coaching program.
