Cal Middleton, Performance Horse Trainer

Cal Middleton has quickly become a well known Performance Horse Trainer throughout the US

Cal Middleton grew up in Smithville, Mo, and always enjoyed spending the summers at his grandparents farm in Ulman, Mo. It was there that he developed a passion, for not only horses, but the agricultural way of life

After college, he spent some time in the cattle business near Eldon, MO, and then moved north to create his business of horse training and riding lessons by opening a barn in Kearney, MO, that he was leasing.

His solid foundation in the unique understanding of the potential of a horse (and rider) is the direct result of time spent apprenticing with many of the greats in the performance horse arena.

Cal Middleton also worked as an assistant trainer for NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Champion and NRCHA million dollar rider Corey Cushing of Scottsdale, AZ.  He continues to ride with the top trainers in the world in order to keep learning as much as he can.

Dallas grew up on a ranch in Wausa, NE, where his family raised horses and cattle.  He first started trainign others' horses at the age of 12. It was just for the neighbors but throughout high school it grew more into a business. Training horses and rodeo consumed every second of his time after that. He set off for college in Rapid City on a rodeo scholarship, and during one of his many rodeo travels he met his wife Chelsie. After he made the College Rodeo Finals, Rapid City cut the rodeo team and Dallas transferred to South Dakota State University (SDSU) to complete his education and join their rodeo team. It was at SDSU that he met one of the McCutcheon brothers. Through this connection Dallas was able to train under Jim McCutcheon out of Valley View, TX.  After working for Jim he graduated from SDSU with a B.S. in Animal Science and a minor in Equine Science. Dallas started training horses full time after graduation and in just a short time, he has trained multiple World Show qualifiers and NRHA money earners.

Dallas' lesson program is effective. Improvement is made every time a customer walks out of the barn. He listens to the client while they explain their view and he helps point out strengths, weakness, and work on what is needed. There are no secrets to his program. He educates the client leaving them confident in their maneuvers, i the show pen and in themselves. No matter the discipline he believes that you have to be educated enough to make decisions, corrections, and advancements on your own. That's what makes you stand out in the show pen.

It is the goal at Dallas Cunningham Performance Horses to develop the mindset of a good cow horse and reining prospect.

Limiting the number of horses taken into his training program allows Dallas to be 110% committed to his clients and their horses. He understands the importance of building trust and relationships with clients, and the same goes for the horses. His program is built around the customer and geared towards the horse. This helps each horse reach its maximum potential and the client's goals. So if you're ready to join a program that gets results, contact him today.

Luke Jones Performance Horse Training

Luke Jones  and Jones Performance Horses is located in the rolling hills of southern Iowa in Allerton.

Owner Luke Jones trains and shows working cow horse, reining, heading, heeling and calf roping horses.

He competes nationally in American Quarter Horse Association, American Paint Horse Association, National Reined Cow Horse Association & National Reining Horse Association. Luke and his wife Erin have a thriving business of winning and hope that you'll take some time to learn about them.

Luke Jones grew up in the small farm town of Allerton, IA. He’s always been a country boy, but he got really interested in horses around the age of 12. He had always helped his dad, Jim, with the farm’s cow/calf operation so it just seemed natural that Luke would continue in that kind of  work.

Throughout high school Luke was a member of the Iowa State High School Rodeo Assn. He competed in cutting, calf roping and team roping. This enabled him to go to nationals all four years. From all of his success, people would gather that he had the best horses and a great trainer. The secret? Luke trained and broke all of his own horses. Then in his junior year, he began training horses for other people.

Luke went onto to North Eastern Oklahoma Community College in Miami, OK, for a year on a rodeo scholarship. He then transferred to Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO, to continue his education and rodeo. It was there he met Erin. After graduating in 2001, he moved back to Allerton and started training full time.

Luke qualified for the Open finals at the Snaffle Bit Futurity in 2010.  He was the SRCHA Intermediate Open Futurity Champion, SDRCHA Open Futurity champion and NCRCHA Open Futurity and Derby in 2011.  He won the Intermediate AQHA World Championship in Jr Cow Horse, 6th and 11 in Jr Working Cow Horse, 9th in Sr Heading, and a finalist in Jr. Calf Roping.

Erin grew up on a farm in southwest Missouri, in Mt. Vernon. She’s always gotten great joy out of riding and was blessed enough to have horses in her life. She was involved in AYRA and MJRC throughout middle school and then competed in the Missouri State High School Rodeo Assn. where she was a barrel racer. She was the Missouri state barrel racing champion her sophomore and junior year, and then placed third her senior year, after her horse was hurt.
